The Bayford Inn Art Competition 2006
The promoter is The Bayford Inn / the organisation operating the competition. Final promoter details and contact information must be inserted before launch.
The competition has two judged categories: Open Award for entrants aged 15 or over on the published closing date, and Young Artist Award for entrants under 15 on that date.
Young Artist entries require the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Theme: “The Bayford Inn”. Entries must be the entrant’s own original work.
Permitted media are painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, mixed media and digital illustration unless the final published brief states otherwise. Photography is not included in the first-year draft.
Open entries should not exceed approximately 3ft × 2ft. Young Artist entries should not exceed A3 unless agreed in advance.
One entry per person is recommended for year one unless organisers publish a different limit.
Entries must be registered by the published deadline and delivered/collected during the published windows.
Organisers may decline work that is unsafe, unsuitable for public display, outside the brief, inadequately secured for hanging, or reasonably believed not to be the entrant’s original work.
Judges’ decisions on the judged awards are final. The People’s Choice award is determined by the published voting method.
Entrants retain ownership and copyright in their work.
By entering, entrants grant permission for the work to be displayed during the competition/exhibition and for reasonable photographs/reproductions of the work to be used to publicise the competition, exhibition, winners and future editions. This does not grant general commercial merchandising rights.
Any commercial reproduction of a winning work for prints, cards or merchandise will be subject to a separate written agreement with the artist/rights holder.
The Open winning original may be requested for display at The Bayford Inn for approximately 12 months under an agreed loan arrangement.
Any later donation, sale or fundraising auction of an original is optional and requires a separate agreement with its owner.16. Prizes are as published. Suggested first-year prizes are £250 for the Open Award and a £50 art-materials voucher for the Young Artist Award.
Reasonable care will be taken of submitted work, but final terms on responsibility for loss/damage, insurance and liability must be checked and inserted before launch.
Personal information will be used to administer the competition and associated permissions. Final privacy wording and retention periods must be confirmed before launch.
Organisers may make reasonable changes or cancel/postpone the competition where circumstances require, with appropriate communication to entrants.
Printed copies are available in the pub. Remember this is free to enter.
